So as previously discussed, I would say that my back strain has made it very difficult to accomplish my goal. Though it has been almost three weeks now, my back is STILL sore and has inhibited my work out regime.
Moreover, I broke up with my fiance earlier this week which has also challenged my motivation to work out. Instead of hopping on the eliptical I would rather hide in my bed =(. Hopefully with time my back and my heart will be rehabed enough to continue on with my goal.

Helpful Links
So I bought kettle bells a few months ago because I thought they were cooler than free weights. However, I had no idea how to actually utilize them. Thus, I went online and found the following website: http://www.sport-fitness-advisor.com/kettlebell-exercises.html In addition to being hilarious with it's little moving figures this website also provides several kettle bell exercises.
In addition to the kettle bell purchase, I also bought a heart rate monitor so I could maximize my workouts. Consequently, I have utilized the following website to help guide me to the proper heart rate levels: http://www.changingshape.com/resources/calculators/targetheartratecalculator.asp
Hopefully, after my back recovers I can use my two new toys again =)!!!

Barriers to Change
Well, up until this week I was surpassing my workout goal. However, I sprained my lower back and have had to take the last 6 days off =(. I felt as though I was finally getting into my groove and now it is ruined. So I would say my biggest barrier to change is my now "grandma back!" Unfortunately, there is no way to overcome this roadblock but instead I have to wait it out. I do not want to hurt myself more. Thus, I have to take it easy until I start feeling better.
Another barrier to change is my sleep schedule. As stated in an earlier blog, if I want to work out in the mornings I HAVE to get up at 4:45am which is quite difficult. However, for the last month I had trained my body to get used to early morning work outs and tried to go to bed at a reasonable hour. Thus, I had started to overcome this barrier. But alas I will have to train myself all over again after my back is healed.
My last barrier to change is my eating habits. Though this isn't directly related to my workout plan...it does indeed affect my health in general. I think I have an addiction to fast food! So resisting the temptations of Del Taco and Taco Bell are almost unbearble at times and a HUGE barrier to change.

Support
My whole family has been VERY supportive of my work out plan of action. Actually, as a family we have all been attempting to change our sedentary behavior and exercise at least three times a week. Thus, their efforts motivate me to continue with my plan in hopes of reaching and maintaining my goal.
Additionally, my boyfriend has been very supportive. He nags me almost everyday to work out, which hate and appreciate all at the same time.
